Santner rocks India as hosts trail by 152

The first session of Day 2 belonged well and truly to New Zealand and Mitch Santner who took four wickets as India were reduced to 107 for 7 at lunch on the 2nd day of play.

India still trail by 152 runs.

India lost 6 wickets and scored 91 runs as Santner and Glenn Phillips tested India's batters.

Phillips took out Jaiswal and Pant before Santner removed Sarfaraz and Ashwin just before lunch. 

Santner has now logged his best figures in Test cricket with four for 36.



Santner continues and after a dot. Sundar is hit on the pads, big shout for LBW, umpire is unmoved, NZ take the review but ball tracking shows umpire's call with wickets missing.

Sundar survives before playing another dot. He then takes a single.

A dot later, Jadeja takes a single to end the over and that is lunch on Day 2.

Phillips continues and after two dots, Jadeja takes a single.

Sundar then gets off the mark with a single to the leg side.

Two dots to end the over as 2 come off it.



Sundar is the new man in and he starts with a dot to end the successful over for the Kiwis.


Santner continues and Ashwin gets off the mark and starts the over with a couple.

Two dots later, he punches the ball off the backfoot past point for a couple.

Santner strikes again as he bowls a fuller and quicker one, Ashwin is hit low on the pads as he tries to play across the line, big shout, umpire raises the finger and Santner gets his 4th. His career best in Tests.  



Ashwin is the new man in at the fall of Sarfaraz's wicket and Phillips continues and after 5 dots, Jadeja ends the over with four as he flicks it to mid-wicket. 4 comes off the over.
