PCB sells TV rights to Ten Sports

November 23, 2008 18:05 IST

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sold its television rights for the next five years to the Dubai-based Ten sports channel for $145.5 million, PCB chief operating officer Saleem Altaf said on Sunday.

Altaf told Reuters Ten sports had lodged the highest of five bids.

Pakistan cricket has been hit hard by the uncertain security situation in the country with regular suicide bomb attacks.

This year Australia postponed a test tour and the International Cricket Council postponed the Champions Trophy, which was to be held in September for the first time in Pakistan.

India are due to tour early next year followed by scheduled tours by Sri Lanka and Australia and the Champions Trophy.
