Lahore Badshah asserted their supremacy in the ICL Twenty20 tournament as they scored a 11-run victory over Ahmedabad Rockets in a league match at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Badshahs', led by former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, first scored 151 for nine and then restricted Rockets to 140 for six in their quota of 20 overs.

A disciplined bowling by pacers at the death ensured Badshahs' victory.

Rockets batsmen struggled against a good pace attack and were never in the run chase as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Rana Naved ul-Hasan bowled intelligent slow bowls in the penultimate over, giving away just four runs setting a tough equation of getting 18 from the last over for the Rockets'.

Azhar Mahmood too bowled cleverly and conceded just six runs in the final over, ensuring Badshahs' win.

Anshu Jain (43) was the only batsman, who batted with grit before ranning himself out while stealing a couple which was not there.

Earlier, Badshahs overcame a few early hiccups to post a competitive total, with Hasan Raja (43) top scoring for them.

Raja came to the crease when his team was struggling at 62 for four after left-arm spinner Sumit Kalia ripped through the opponent middle-order by claiming four wickets.

Raja did the repair work by sharing a 47-run stand with Naved Latif (11). His 32-ball knock was studded with four boundaries and two shots over the ropes.

Also making an important contribution was Naved-ul-Hasan, who hit 16 runs from just four balls and helped his team past the 150-run mark. He hit two sixes and a boundary and his handy knock.
