West Indies elect to bat

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka in the sixth and final qualifying match of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.

Defending champions West Indies made two changes in their team opting for Fidel Edwards and Dwayne Smith in place of Jerome Taylor and Ian Bradshaw.

For Sri Lanka, left-armer Chaminda Vaas replaced pacer Ruchira Perera from the team that beat Zimbabwe by 144 runs on Tuesday.

Both the teams have qualified for the main draw of the tournament having won their previous two qualifying matches against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

Both the teams are vying for the top place in the qualifying, which will help them avoid Group A -- featuring world champions Australia and hosts India.

West Indies: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Bravo, Dwayne Smith, Wavell Hinds, Marlon Samuels, Carlton Baugh Jr., Corey Collymore, Fidel Edwards.

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Marvan Atapattu, Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Kumara Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Fervez Maharoof, Chaminda Vaas, Lasith Malinga, Muttiah Muralitharan, Dilhara Fernando.
