Sachin Tendulkar will consult his surgeon Dr Andrew Wallace, who operated his shoulder, in London before proceeding to the West Indies if passed fit for the four-Test rubber commencing June 2.

"Whether he passes the fitness test or not, he is scheduled to leave for London on May 24 to consult his doctor. He would then proceed to the West Indies (or return home)," Indian cricket board secretary Niranjan Shah said on Monday.

"The rest of the replacements for the Test series (from the one-day team which is already in the Caribbean) would leave on May 25," the BCCI secretary added.

The proposed fitness test for Tendulkar, currently in Chennai undergoing training and practice, has been put off by a few days from May 20 and would be done on May 22 or 23, according to the board's secretary.

Tendulkar has undergone a shoulder surgery in March.

The fitness test would be done in Mumbai in the presence of Andrew Leipus (former Indian team physio) and Kiran More (national selection panel chief).

Leipus would also be in Chennai to oversee the champion batsman's training at the MRF Academy along with local trainer Ramji Srinivasan before returning to Mumbai along with Tendulkar.

Tendulkar, who underwent the shoulder operation in late March, has been ruled out of the one-day series against the West Indies commencing May 18 in Kingston, Jamaica.

Opener Wasim Jaffer, who underwent a shin surgery last month, would also undergo a fitness test with Tendulkar ahead of the selection committee meeting scheduled for May 24.
