Dravid appointed captain till 2007

Rahul Dravid has been appointed as Indian captain till the end of 2007 Cricket World Cup, it was announced in Mumbai on Saturday.

"Rahul Dravid will be the Indian cricket captain till the end of the World Cup which will be played in West Indies next year," BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah told reporters.

Dravid took over captaincy from Sourav Ganguly after the Zimbabwe series last year. He completed 100 Tests during the third and final match of the series against England in Mumbai, which commenced on Saturday.
