England selectors named four replacements on Saturday for the one-day series in India.

Off-spinner Gareth Batty, seamer Sajid Mahmood and batsmen Owais Shah and Vikram Solanki will come into the squad for the seven-match series starting on March 28, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.

Left-arm spinner Ashley Giles has yet to recover from a hip injury while paceman Simon Jones and captain Michael Vaughan returned home before the Test series due to injury.

Opening batsman Marcus Trescothick left the tour for personal reasons but will be available after the India tour.

"While I'm naturally disappointed to be missing the tour of India, it is my intention to play cricket for Somerset

this summer and also to make myself available for England selection for this summer's international programme," the ECB quoted the vice captain as saying.

Batty, Mahmood and Solanki are currently on the A tour of West Indies. Shah is already in India after arriving as the injury replacement for Vaughan.

The one-dayers will be played in Delhi (March 28), Faridabad (March 31), Goa (April 3), Kochi (April 6), Guwahati (April 9), Jamshedpur (April 12) and Indore (April 15).
