Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq on Sunday ruled himself out from further participation in the second Test and also admitted that he was also a doubtful starter for the third match starting in Karachi from Saturday.

Inzamam, talking to PTI in the team hotel, said he was in tremendous pain at the moment and the exact nature of the injury would only be known after the MRI reports are received later in the evening.

"I am out of this Test match and don't see any role for myself. But as regards the third Test, I have my fingers crossed. I am determined to play in this series but I will only know when I see the MRI reports," Inzamam said.

He added: "The initial diagnosis is that I have a muscular pain in the left side of my back and if the diagnosis is correct, then it will take four to five days to recover.

"But if the injury is something like the one I had in Australia (in 2004-2005), then the rest is up to five weeks."
