Australian fast bowler Brett Lee was charged with dissent on the opening day of the third and final Test against South Africa, Cricket Australia said on Tuesday.

Lee was reported by umpires Aleem Dar, Billy Bowden and third umpire Bob Parry for a level one offence relating to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision by action or verbal abuse".

The incident occurred in the 27th over of South Africa's first innings with Jacques Kallis on strike.

Lee was ordered to front a hearing after the close of play on Tuesday.
