The Indian squad for next month's triangular series in Malaysia will play two warm-up matches in Chennai ahead of its departure for Kuala Lumpur.

It has been decided that the team would play the ties on September 8 and 9 before leaving for Kuala Lumpur, Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Niranjan Shah told PTI on Friday.

However, it has not yet been decided when the team members would assemble before the two practice matches, Shah added.

The squad, either of 14 or 15 players, is to be chosen in Mumbai on September 3 along with the 14-strong team for the ICC Champions Trophy.

The tri-series in Malaysia - featuring India, Australia and the West Indies - is scheduled from September 12-24 and the Champions Trophy, involving 10 teams, will be held at four Indian centres from October 7-November 5.
