Bangladehi opener Nafees Iqbal and seamer Tapash Baishya are among eight players earning recalls to a 30-man provisional squad for this year's ICC Champions Trophy in India, the Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Thursday.
Iqbal and Baishya, who have not played for Bangladesh since February, were recalled following improved domestic form, board chief executive officer Mahmudur Rahman told reporters.
Left-arm spinner Enamul Haque, pacers Hasibul Hossain and Nazmul Hossain, all-rounder Manjural Islam and off-spinner Jamaluddin Babu, have also been drafted back into the squad after lenghty spells away from the national set-up.
The squad also included six uncapped players: left-handed batsmen Mehrab Hossain Jr and Nazmus Sadat, all rounders Nadif Chowdhury and Mahmudullah Riyad, wicketkeeper Shahagir Hossain and medium pacer Shafaq Al Zabir.
The 30-player list must be trimmed to 15 by a September 7 deadline.
Bangladesh will play against Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe in the qualifying phase of the Champions Trophy between October 7-15.
The top two teams will qualify for main draw, held from October 15 to November 5.
