Captain Tanmay Srivastava led from the front with an unbeaten century to take India Under-19 to a comfortable position on the first day of their four-day third Test against England Under-19 at the Denis Compton Oval in Shenley, on Sunday.

After the fall of two early wickets, Srivastava (157 not out) played a patient knock to build a 121-run partnership with opener Harshad Khadiwale (71).

Later, the skipper added 90 runs with Omkar Gurav (31) and 71 runs with Karan Singh (46).

Srivastava hit 16 boundaries and a six in his 257-ball knock to help India reach a healthy 358 for seven at stumps on day one.

Steven Finn (3 for 76) and Andrew Miller (2 for 56) were the main wicket takers for England.
