"How can the Board judge the credentials of the future coach just through a mere presentation? I hope they will not follow the same procedure in future," Amarnath told NDTV news channel on their programme 'Cricket Controversies' to be aired on Tuesday at 11.00 pm.

Former Australian captain Greg Chappell was selected as the coach of the national team ahead of Amarnath, Tom Moody and Desmond Haynes by a six-member BCCI committee.

The committee, which interviewed all the four contenders before announcing the former Australian captain's name for the post on last Friday, had said that it was impressed with Chappell's presentation.

Amarnath, the hero of the 1983 World Cup final, said the BCCI did not even have the courtesy of informing him about the selection of the Australian.

"No body got in touch with me once they (BCCI) decided to have Greg Chappell as the coach of the team," Amarnath said.

"I would have appreciated actually if they had informed me that this is the decision we are taking on that particular  morning.

BCCI president, Ranbir Singh Mahendra, during the press conference where he announced the selection of Chappell had said that the Board had been unable to get in touch with Amarnath and Desmond Haynes to inform them about the decision.
