Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday advised school students writing Board examinations across the country to concentrate on their studies although he admitted the lure of watching the exciting India-Pakistan series would be difficult to resist.

"I have gone through this problem in my days like everyone else. It is difficult to focus on the studies. It happened to me during the 1987 World Cup, but eventually I focused on the exams. It's tough luck for the students," Tendulkar said in Mumbai.

"It just happens that the (India-Pakistan) cricket series is coinciding with the exams. You just have to focus on the exams," he advised the students ahead of the forthcoming cricket series comprising three Tests and six one-day internationals.

However, Tendulkar said nothing much could be done about it since the itineraries are prepared by International Cricket Council.

"I know how difficult it is to finalise the itineraries of various tours with so many countries involved. It's difficult for the International Cricket Council, it's difficult for the BCCI too," the ace batsman said.
