Decision on Ahmedabad in 24 hrs: PCB

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahrayar Khan has sought a day to take a decision on playing a match in Ahmedabad.

As a compromise, following Pakistan's reluctance to play a Test match in Ahmedabad, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has requested the PCB to consider playing a one day match there.

BCCI president Ranbir Singh Mahendra spoke to Khan over the phone on Thursday morning in the presence of International Cricket Council chief Ehsan Mani, who is in Delhi for one of his regular meetings with the BCCI.

The call was made just minutes before a crucial BCCI working committee meeting, which was called to discuss the itinerary of the Pakistan team's India tour.

The Test match to be played in Ahmedabad may be moved to Chennai or Kolkata if the Pakistan board agrees to a one-dayer there.

The one-dayer in Ahmedabad will in addition to the five one-dayers that Pakistan is scheduled to play in India.
