India captain Rahul Dravid skipped practice on Friday, ahead of the third and final Test against Sri Lanka, starting in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
He only came out to inspect the pitch and did not take to the nets.
It is learnt that he hasn't fully recovered from a viral infection he contacted on the eve of the second Test, though he took part in the game, which India won by 188 runs.
The Indian team's media manager, Wing Commander M Baladitya, played down concerns about Dravid health, saying there is no need to worry about it.
"He will be fine for the match," Baladitya said.
However, all other Indian players practised on Friday including Punjab pacer V R V Singh, who has been specifically asked to be with the team and bowl in the nets, the team manager said.
The team management is still mulling over whether to have a short conditioning camp for the Indian team ahead of the Pakistan tour, which is in the first week of January.
The Indians are scheduled to play three Tests and five one-day internationals.
"It may be a 2-3 day camp," the team manager added.
