England to visit India in 2006
August 16, 2005 11:27 IST

England will play three Tests and seven one-dayers during their tour of India early next year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Monday.

England, who last played Tests in India in 2001, are scheduled to play the Tests between March 6 and 30 and the one-dayers from April 1 to 23.

The dates were announced after a meeting of the board's decision-making working committee.

India, who begin their month-long tour of Zimbabwe next week to play a one-day tri-series and two Tests, have a busy season ahead.

They host Sri Lanka for seven one-dayers from October 25 to November 12 and play a five-game one-day international series against visiting South Africa from November 15 to 29. Sri Lanka return to play three Tests from December 1 to 22.

India tour Pakistan from January 2 to February 11 for a Test and one-day series and would stay back to play in the Asia Cup, to be played from February 14 to 28.
