'Dismissal will stay with me forever'

Australia fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz said his dismissal, which cost his side the second Test against England by two runs, would probably remain with him for the rest of his life.

"I will probably leave [Edgbaston] with the most vivid memory that I will replay in my mind for the rest of my life," he told reporters in Birmingham, on Sunday after his gallant 20.

"There's maybe a sense of pride but initially there's disappointment. In a lot of ways it's cruel to get that close and just miss out in the end."

The 33-year-old Kasprowicz, batting at 11, and Brett Lee (43 not out) put on 59 for the final wicket to get Australia to 279 with 282 needed for victory on the fourth morning.

Then England strike bowler Steve Harmison produced a sharp delivery which Kasprowicz gloved behind.

Kasprowicz only played in the match after Glenn McGrath was injured just before the start. It was a dramatic end to an enthralling game which levelled the five-match series at 1-1. The third Test starts at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Lee, who had earlier been struck on the hand following a barrage of short-pitched deliveries, was asked about the injury.

"I'm hurting more here," he said, pointing to his heart.
