Vidarbha v/s Tripura in Nagpur

Vidarbha defeated Tripura by six wickets just 15 minutes before lunch on the third day to record their second consecutive outright victory in the Plate `B' Group Ranji Trophy cricket match at the VCA stadium on Saturday.

After dismissing Tripura for 164 off 72.5 overs in their second innings, the hosts, after early hiccup, reached the required target of 102 runs for loss of four wickets.

Alind Naidu followed up his six-wicket match haul with a crisp undefeated knock of 43 while Baburao Yadav contributed 25.

Jharkhand v/s Jammu and Kashmir in Jamshedpur

A defiant 60-run knock by Majid Dar went in vain as Jharkhand clinched an emphatic ten-wicket victory over Jammu and Kashmir on the penultimate day of the Plate A Ranji Trophy match at Keenan Stadium on Sunday.

The visitors, who had made just 79 in their first innings, managed 176 in their second essay but that was hardly enough as it left Jharkhand needing to score just 11 runs for a win.

Jharkhand, who made 245 in the first innings, scored the required runs without losing any wicket.

Earlier, resuming at 59 for five, J and K skipper Dhruv Mahajan, who was batting on 20 overnight, failed to add any score to his kitty as left arm spinner Shahid Khan had him bowled in the very first over of the morning.

Majid Dar then joined with Sameer Khajuria to fetch valuable 66 runs for the seventh wicket before Khajuria (32, 2x4) edged a catch behind the wicket off Khan, who finished with 3 for 33.

After Khajuria's departure, J and K kept losing wickets at regular intervals even as Dar held on, defying the attack of the host team led by Sumit Panda.

Dar's unbeaten 60, studded with seven boundaries, helped the visitors reach a respectable score before they were bundled out soon after lunch.

Jharkhand, who secured two points in their first match agaist Saurashtra, earned five points with this outright win, taking the total points tally to seven from two matches.

Kerala were 14 for one in their second innings when stumps were drawn.

Resuming at 142 for no loss, Orissa lost opener Subrat Behera (60) after adding 10 more to the total. However, Rashmi Ranjan Parida, who joined Das (unbeaten at 72 yesterday) batted sensibly, chosing only loose balls to hit to the fence.
