Virender Sehwag, during his innings of 164 on day four of the first Test against South Africa at Kanpur on Tuesday, completed 1,000 runs in Test matches in the calendar year 2004.
He became the seventh Indian, on the 13th occasion, to perform the feat of aggregating 1,000 Test runs in a calendar year.
Remarkably 62.74% of Sehwag's runs have come in boundaries.
Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar have both performed the feat four times each. Gavaskar also holds the record of highest run-aggregate (1407) in a calendar year.
