• The ninth wicket partnership of 39 runs between Yuvraj Singh and Laxmipathy Balaji is India's best for this wicket against Pakistan. The pair obliterated the previous record stand of 35 between Ajit Agarkar and Anil Kumble in Sharjah on 26-03-2000.

No other bowler from any country has conceded 70 plus runs against India on more than one occasion.

• Sami has now gone for 70 or more runs in a match on four occasions. He has thus equalled teammate Abdul Razzaq and Australia's Brett Lee's record. Among the Pakistani bowlers only Waqar Younis has conceded 70 runs in a match on more occasions -seven times - than him, which is a world record.

• The 23 wides sent down in Indian innings is a new record in India-Pakistan matches. The previous record was of 22 wides conceded by Pakistan at Toronto on 13-09-1997. Interestingly in that Toronto match Indian bowlers had also conceded 21 wides in Pakistan's innings.

• The fifth wicket partnership of 91 runs between Yasir Hameed and Inzamam-ul-Haq is Pakistan's best for this wicket against India in Pakistan bettering the unbeaten 68-run partnership between Inzamam-ul-Haq and Moin Khan at Karachi on 30-09-1997.

• The seventh wicket unbroken partnership of 74 runs between Abdul Razzaq and Moin Khan is Pakistan's best for this wicket against India in all matches. The pair expunged the previous record stand of 72 between Abdul Razzaq and Azhar Mahmood at Adelaide on 25-01-2000. The previous highest stand for the seventh wicket for Pakistan at home was 25 between Mudassar Nazar and Manzoor Elahi at Quetta on 12-10-1984.
