Tendulkar loses claim against former CA

Indian batting ace Sachin Tendulkar suffered defeat off the field on Tuesday when he lost a claims case for breach of trust against his former tax adviser and consultant Madhav Bhatkande.

The Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants in Mumbai, which probed a complaint filed by Tendulkar in 2001 accusing Bhatkande of "professional misconduct", did not agree with the batsman's claim for Rs 22 lakh and gave the benefit of the doubt to the chartered accountant.

Confirming the development to a news agency, Bhatkande he is very happy with the outcome.

Sachin had asked Bhatkande to refund Rs 22 lakh which he claimed he had loaned to him. Bhatkande declined, saying the amount was actually his fees and that Sachin actually owed him more.

Sachin had discontined Bhatkhande's services after signing up some new contracts.
