Terming the upcoming cricket series in Pakistan as a "new challenge", India's coach John Wright said his players would have to improve further from their show in Australia if they were to beat their fancied rivals.

"We have to continue playing good cricket consistently. After playing good cricket in Australia it is time for us to improve further as we come up against a new challenge," Wright said at Mumbai on Sunday, a day after his arrival from his native country New Zealand.

"The most important thing is to keep in mind that to win matches we have to play good cricket and that is what the whole team will be focussing on," he added.

Wright drew confidence from India's fine show in Australia where they drew the Test series and said "I only want the team to do well and make the fans all over the world proud of the way Indians play their game.

"The most important thing for me is to see that the Indian players give their best shot and do their country proud," he said.

On the security concerns in Pakistan, Wright said "my advice to the players is - just concentrate on the game. Personally I am eager to see the Indians do well on their 40-day tour."

Wright admitted fitness of some key players was of some concern saying "it is one area that we have to look into. We will be assessing it during and after the selection committee meeting on Monday.
