MCA joint secretary J U Mitkar said over phone from Aurangabad on Friday that Kale has been asked to appear before the three-man panel comprising Test umpire S K Sathe, T K Handu and S Mandale (both all-India panel umpires) to present his side of the story.

"The MCA managing committee, under the chairmanship of president S G Balasaheb Thorve, will then meet in the evening and decide the next course of action," he said.

"If during the inquiry we find that Kale is innocent then the MCA will back him to the hilt as he has always been a very straightforward cricketer with a bright future," Mitkar added.
