The Board of Control for Cricket in India's ground and pitches committee chairman, G Kasturirangan, has resigned on health grounds, Board sources said in Kolkata on Monday.
Kasturirangan, who has not been keeping good health, sent his resignation about a month back.
"His resignation was placed at the working committee meeting of the Board, held on July 2 and 3, where it was accepted," the sources said.
"Since it is an internal matter of the Board, it was not made public. But nothing more should be read into this," they said, adding that a successor for Kasturirangan would be named soon.
