A masterly century by Australian Brad Hodge and a run-a-ball 40 by India's Virender Sehwag helped Leicestershire draw their four-day Frizzell County Championship first division tie against Warwickshire at Leicester on Saturday.
Warwickshire were dismissed for 361 in the second innings. Leicestershire needed 287 from 61 overs for a victory but the early losses of John Maunders and Darren Maddy had Leicestershire looking up to an inspired display from Sehwag to salvage the situation.
Sehwag and Hodge, then, lifted Leicestershire with a 55-run partnership but at tea, the home team was struggling at 93 for four with Alan Richardson and Waqar having claimed two wickets apiece.
Warwickshire's delight at Sehwag's dismissal indicated the Indian batsman's key role in the run chase.
Hodge continued with his rescue act, adding 130 for the fifth wicket with P A Nixon (36) before he was bowled by Richardson for a well made 128.
