US-based Internet search engine, Yahoo!, is in talks to acquire a minority stake in Indiatimes, the online business of Bennett & Coleman, publisher of English dailiesTimes of India and Economic Times.
A source close to the deal confirmed the development and added that the group was also discussing the issue with private equity funds.
Senior Yahoo executives who are in India to review the company's domestic operations, declined to comment on a potential investment in Indiatimes.
After consolidating its presence in China, Yahoo! now plans to strengthen its business in India.
