Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on Monday denied that the ministry was unhappy with the WTO Framework Agreement and maintained that he had not written any note to the prime minister which said India's interests had been sold out to the West.

A newspaper report had created an impression that the agriculture minister told the prime minister that the conclusions arrived at at the World Trade Organisation meeting do not mean much to the country.

"This is not correct," said Pawar in a statement. The report portraying an impression that the agriculture ministry was not happy with the agreement was 'not at all factual,' it said.

Both the agriculture and the commerce ministers and the officials of the two ministries were fully involved in the preparation for the general council meeting in Geneva where the framework agreement was adopted on July 31.

A joint secretary of ministry of agriculture was also a part of the delegation to Geneva, it added.
