Wipro Technologies, the IT services division of Wipro Ltd, said on Wednesday that it has become the first company outside the US to be conferred with Software Process Achievement by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society.
The SPA award was presented to Wipro Technologies at an international conference on software engineering held at Portland, Oregon, USA recently, a company release said in Bangalore.
The award is given for achieving a high software process capability and establishing a basis for moving to a very broad improvement programme that concerns people and product, rather than just process and issues, it said.
