Discounting the possibility that the number of visitors from India to the UK will fall following the Glasgow airport bombing, Visit London, a UK-based tourism promotion agency, has said the British High Commission might take extra time to process the visa applications of Indians from a particular religion or community.
Visit London, which is partly funded by the Mayor's London Development Agency and the Association of London Government, promotes and markets London as a tourist destination for leisure and business visitors.
Speaking to Business Standard, Punam Singh, chief representative (India), Visit London, said, "I think now the British High Commission will be taking more time to process visa applications of visitors from India after the Glasgow airport bombing."
However, she said the number of visitors from India would not dip after the terror attack in Glasgow.
"After the 7/7 London bombings, the number of visitors from India did not decrease rather it increased," she informed.
Regarding the alleged role of a particular community behind the recent Glasgow bombing, she said, "There can be a possibility that the processing of visa applications of those people belonging to that particular community would take more time than others."
