The United States embassy in New Delhi and the American consulates general in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata will open new visa appointments in all categories, including tourist visas.
In a release, the US mission has asked those who already have a visa appointment to visit the embassy's appointments web site (www.vfs-usa.co.in) to advance the schedule of their interviews.
This was being done, the mission stated, to reduce the wait time for new appointments.
