Union Bank bags Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha shield

The Union Bank of India bagged the top prize for overall best performance in the use of Hindi in official work under the Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha shield scheme of the Government of India.

K L Gopalakrishna, general manager (HRM), UBI, received the Best Performance Shield from the Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani at a special function organised at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi recently.

The Union Bank of India is stressing the use of Hindi at its offices and branches across the country and has also received various awards from the Government of India and Reserve Bank of India towards this initiative.

UBI is also working towards bringing in the use of Hindi in computerization. It has also introduced Hindi software in all the word processors it uses. It is also in the process of installing bilingual data processors.

Union Bank is also introducing Hindi at its ATMs.
