Don't fret the next time you forget your favourite designer jacket or your loved one's parting gift at an airport because you can now use the facility of retrieving the articles after logging on to the Internet.

The CISF, which looks after the security of the airport, will soon upload details of items left behind by passengers, including the contact details of the relevant authority who has been given the temporary custody of such items, official sources said.

They said large amounts of items including laptops, mobile phones, hand bags and gifts used to be collected on a daily basis from across the 55 airports in the country which were later disposed of by airport operators.

But, now with the details being put up on the CISF website, sources said, the passengers can contact the relevant authority and give necessary ownership proofs and collect the same.

Though the CISF also collects several kg of 'prohibited items', which include pocket knives, metal scissors, cartons of deodorant and perfumes every day, sources said, such items would not be put up on the Web site as they do not come under 'valuables category'.
