The state-wide transporter's strike in protest against the Bombay High Court's order on converting 15-year-old vehicles into CNG by July 31 or be scrapped, entered the seventh day on Monday.
The Maharashtra Rajya Truck, Tempo, Tanker, and Bus Vahatuk Mahasangh is spearheaded the strike.
Though essential commodities such as milk, vegetables and grains have been exempted from the strike, its prices are spiralling and are set to increase. There has been no loading and unloading of stocks at the APMC complex at Vashi in Navi Mumbai in the last six days.
Ignoring the Maharashtra government's appeal to call off their stir, the Mahasangh is all set to appeal in the Supreme Court, and there seems to be no possibility of an early end to the strike.
