Spicejet, which launched the service on Monday, is operating Boeing 737-800 aircraft in an all economy 189-seat configuration, it said in a statement.
SpiceJet is also commencing its operations from Bangalore-Delhi via Pune and Bangalore-Pune shortly, it said.
The fares of SpiceJet for Bangalore-Delhi via Ahmedabad/Pune range between Rs 2,499 and Rs 6,999, whereas the fares for Bangalore range between Rs 1,499 and Rs 6,099, the statement said.
"While the starting fare is barely Rs 400 higher than AC III tier fares, at the higher end of the pricing, SpiceJet fares are still almost 45 per cent cheaper than regular airlines," the statement said.
On the very first day of opening its reservations, SpiceJet said it received an "overwhelming market response".
"SpiceJet sold 37,348 tickets in a day, which is the largest number of tickets ever sold by any airline in Asia on the first day of their booking, with 15,518 seats on the Bangalore route alone," the statement added.
