Siemens defers share buyback proposal

The board of directors of Siemens Ltd, the Indian unit of the German electronics giant Siemens AG, has deferred a proposal to buy back its shares, the Bombay Stock Exchange said on Thursday.

The notice on BSE's web site said the decision was taken on Wednesday, but gave no details.

Shares of Siemens Ltd ended down 1.1 per cent at Rs 282 on Wednesday on the BSE, whose main index closed down 0.71 per cent.
