The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 70 points at 15,802. The index rallied to a fresh all-time high of 15,869 -- up 137 points from the previous close.
Power and Capital Goods stocks continued to lead the upmove today. Profit-taking in intra-day deals saw the index pare gains, but eventually finish 63 points higher at 15,795. The NSE Nifty ended at 4,621, up 2 points.
