The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 36 points at 14,490. The index touched a high of 14,501, and then slipped to a low of 14,430. The index is now unchanged at 14,454. NSE Nifty is trading at 4,276, down 2 points.
BHEL has advanced over 1% to Rs 2,706. Gujarat Ambuja and Tata Motors are the other notable gainers. ONGC is the prominent loser among the index stocks.
