Sensex down 61 points at close

After four good days of gain the markets closed with bit of retracement on the last day of week. The Sensex saw a good week but a soft session as it closed below the 10700 level. The Sensex closed at 10,680.23 down 61 points. The Nifty lost 25 points to close at 3131.

The BSE Small Cap Index closed at 5,065.17, up 36 points.
The BSE Midcap Index ended at 4,277.53, up 49 points

BSE Banking Index up 12.7%; SBI Bank up 7.5%, ICICI Bank up 5.3%

BSE Cap Goods Index up 8.3%; BHEL up 10%, ACC up 8.2%

BSE Healthcare Index up 5%; Dr Reddy's up 13%, Cipla Up 5.8%

BSE Auto Index up 5.3%, BSE IT Index Up 4%

CNX Midcap Index up 5.4%; BSE Small Cap Index up 5.2%

Midcap Gainers: BPL up 29%, Dena Bk up 19.7%, Coromandel Fert up 19%

Sugar stock lose; Bajaj Hind dn 5.8%, Balrampur Chini dn 5.6%

The BSE Bankex gained 1.45% at 4,719.66. Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, IOB, Union Bank and SBI were among top gainers.
The BSE Consumer Durables Index gained 1% at 2,691.49. Samtel Color, Whirlpool and Su-Raj Diamonds gained ground.
The BSE Health care index closed up 0.95% at 3,214.09. FDC, Wyeth, Nicholas Pirama, Pfizer and Wockhardt closed in the positive terrain.

The BSE Capital Goods Index gained 0.4% at 6,904.98. BEML, Thermax, KEC Infrastruct, Greaves Cotton and Dredging Cor closed higher.

The BSE Metal Index was down 0.2% at 7,803.42. NALCO, Hindalco, Hind Zinc, JindalStainless witnessed selling pressure.
The Auto index closed at 4,419.82 down 0.7%. MICO, Bajaj Auto, Cummins, Maruti Udyog and Tata Motors closed lower.
The BSE IT Index was down 1.4% at 3,896.43. Patni Computer, TCS, Wipro, HCL Tech and Infosys slipped.
The BSE FMCG Index was down 0.74% at 1,893.30. McDowell, Tata Tea, Nirma, P & G, Britannia closed in red.
The BSE Oil and Gas Index closed down 1.45% at 5,053.72. GAIL, Reliance, MRPL and HPCL were among the losers.
The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 6007.5 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 18680.39 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 2783.61 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 27471.5 crore.
