Sensex up 7 points at close

After soaring to a new high of 11,147 the index soon tumbled to a low of 11,051 - down 96 points. The index, thereafter, displayed range-bound movement before settling with a marginal gain of seven points at 11,086.

Infosys surged 2.7% to Rs 2,958. Wipro moved up 1.7% to Rs 529.

ONGC added 1.8% to Rs 1,280. Maruti and HDFC advanced 1.5% each to Rs 851 and Rs 1,338, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja perked up 1% to Rs 99.30.

BHEL and Larsen & Toubro dropped 2.2% each to Rs 2,110 and Rs 2,400, respectively. Dr.Reddy's declined 2% to Rs 1,422.

Tata Power slipped 1.5% to Rs 585. ICICI Bank, Cipla, Hindalco and Reliance Energy were down over 1% each at Rs 592, Rs 632, Rs 173 and Rs 607, respectively.
