The Sensex closed with a smart gain of 85 points at 9,550.
Reliance declined nearly 1% to close at Rs 695 today. ONGC shed 1.2% to Rs 1,240.
While ITC surged 2% to Rs 155, HLL ended almost flat at Rs 188.
Infosys advanced 2.8% to Rs 2,823. TCS gained 1.4% at Rs 1,645, and Satyam moved up nearly 1% to Rs 733. Wipro, however, closed flat at Rs 493.
Larsen & Toubro surged 3.7% to Rs 1,936. BHEL added 2.5% to Rs 1,642.
Maruti soared over 4% to Rs 741. Tata Motors rallied nearly 3% to Rs 662. While Bajaj Auto advanced 1.4% to Rs 2,078, Hero Honda closed almost unchanged at Rs 838.
Ranbaxy gained 3.6% to Rs 390, and Dr.Reddy's added 1.5% to Rs 1,045. Cipla, however, slipped 2.3% to end at Rs 431.
While Tata Steel moved up 1.8% to Rs 364, Hindalco declined 1.3% to Rs 156.
ACC, Grasim and NTPC also ended with a gain of 1% each.
