The Sensex has ended 46 points higher at 6,010.
The Nifty has gained 21 points to close at 1,894.
ITC zoomed 4% (Rs 47) to end at Rs 1192. Reliance and HLL were down a percent each at Rs 528 and Rs 130, respectively.
Satyam advanced 2% (Rs 8) to Rs 427.50. Wipro was up a percent at Rs 715 while Infosys ended marginally higher at Rs 2,031.
Tata Motors and Zee Telefilms gained 3% each to end at Rs 445 and Rs 161, respectively.
