The Nifty has advanced 4 points to close at 1,876.
Reliance, after initial hiccups, ended the day on a firm note with a gain of a percent (Rs 5) at Rs 532 while ITC ended marginally higher at Rs 1,145. HLL was down a rupee at Rs 132.
Infosys dropped a percent (Rs 23) to Rs 2,032. Satyam and Wipro were down Rs 2 each at Rs 421 and Rs 710.50, respectively.
Tata Power zoomed 5% (Rs 16) to Rs 339 while Ranbaxy was up 2% at Rs 1,054. Larsen and Toubro advanced 1.5% to Rs 860.
Reliance Energy plunged 3% to close at Rs 601.
