Sensex gains 17 points at 3,832.

Bajaj was up more than 3% (Rs 21) at Rs 667. Telco gained Rs 2 to Rs 241.

BHEL gained Rs 6 to Rs 270. HPCL was up Rs 5 at Rs 327. SBI was up more than 2% (Rs 9) to Rs 428.

Grasim added 2% (Rs 12) to Rs 577. ACC, Gujarat Ambuja and L&T also finished with gains.

HCL Tech was firm right through the session, and gained 4% (Rs 7) to Rs 175. Satyam opened on a weak note, but later found support and added Rs 3 to Rs 211. Infoys, however, lost Rs 44 to Rs 3,740.

ITC gained Rs 8 to Rs 729. HLL was flat at Rs 167. Reliance was steady at Rs 355.

Dr. Reddy's dropped 6.6% (Rs 72) to Rs 1021. Glaxo and Ranbaxy also declined. Cipla bounced into positive zone in late trades, and added Rs 5 to Rs 810.

Hindalco advanced 5% (Rs 38) to Rs 849. HDFC added more than 4% (Rs 17) to Rs 439. Nestle also gained more than 4% (Rs 25) to Rs 572. Tisco was up 2% (Rs 4) to Rs 219. BSES added Rs 11 to Rs 296.

ICICI Bank declined Rs 7 to Rs 155. Zee lost Rs 5 to Rs 114.
