The BSE Sensex overtook the famed Dow Jones Industrial Average when it hit an intra-day high of 11,157.75 on Wednesday.
The Dow had closed at 11,154.54 points yesterday after a drop of 96 points in reaction to the Fed rate hike and talks of more hikes in the offing and oil crossing $66 per barrel.
The Sensex has logged a return of over 75% on YoY basis (from 6367.86 points to the day's high of 11,157.75 points) as against the Dow return of a paltry 7.20% (10405.70 points to 11,154.54 points on Tuesday).
The Sensex is trading at a P/E of 20.53 on TTM basis as against the Dow P/E of 18.6.
