The Supreme Court on Monday said persons working on daily wages have no right to regular employment in government departments even if they have been working as such for years.
The ruling came from a five-Judge Bench, headed by Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal, on a petition filed by the state of Karnataka.
The Karnataka government had challenged a verdict of the state high court directing regularisation of certain employees who had worked on daily wages for 10 years in a government department.
