The country's largest public sector bank,
State Bank of India on Tuesday posted a decline of 4.49 per cent in net profit at Rs 1,065.06 crore (Rs 10.65 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, as compared to Rs 1,115.19 crore (Rs 11.15 billion) for the same quarter last year.
The total income increased 1.30 per cent to Rs 11,546.97 crore (Rs 115.46 billion) for the third quarter this fiscal from Rs 11,398.62 crore (Rs 113.98 billion) for the corresponding quarter a year ago, the bank informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The group posted a net profit after minority interest at Rs 1,524.42 crore (Rs 15.24 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, as compared to Rs 1466 crore (Rs 14.66 billion) for the same quarter last year.
The total income of the group increased to Rs 17483.20 crore (Rs 174.83 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, from Rs 15484.26 crore (Rs 154.84 billion) for the corresponding quarter a year ago.
