Air Deccan announced on Tuesday its tie-up with State Bank of India for on-line ticket booking.

The facility would be available to all Internet registered users of SBI and over a million customers will benefit from the joint initiative, it was revealed at a joint press conference in Bangalore.

SBI, the country's largest commercial bank, has 3,500 Internet banking branches across the country.

The agreement was signed by SBI Acting Chairman and Managing Director T S Bhattacharya and Air Deccan Managing Director G R Gopinath.

Gopinath said the e-ticketing facility would ensure the getting a ticket straight to drawing rooms.

"Being the largest commercial bank in the country, our endeavour is to bring all value-added services to our customers' doorstep. After the huge success in the Indian Railways' e-ticketing facility, this service is now being extended to air travellers," Bhattacharya said.
