Samsung sees good growth for Flat TVs

Samsung India Electronics Limited on Tuesday said it expects the contribution of Flat TVs in total television sales to grow to 50 per cent by the end of this year.

"We are hoping to grow our Flat TV contribution from its current level of 32 per cent at the end of the first quarter to 40 per cent by the end of the second quarter," Samsung India director (sales) R Zutshi said.

"By the end of this year, we are expecting our Flat TV contribution to grow to over 50 per cent," Zutshi said.

The company also announced the launch of an exchange offer to develop the market of flat televisions and help customers upgrade to the latest technology.

He said the exchange offer would be valid till June 30. The company invited the consumers to upgrade to a Samsung Flat TV of their choice by returning any of the their old, working condition, 20" and above curved TV.

Samsung also introduced a 15" Flat television in the market.
