Reliance Infocomm and Reliance Energy (formerly BSES Ltd) have clarified that 'there is no question of recovering Reliance IndiaMobile dues from customers by disconnecting their electric supply.'

In a joint statement, the two companies have urged consumers to guard against the rumours about the threat of disconnection of electricity for non-payment of Reliance IndiaMobile bills.

"Together Reliance Infocomm and Reliance Energy hereby categorically clarify that these rumours are malicious and motivated. Such rumours were floated in the past also and were strongly denied by us. Both Reliance Infocomm and Reliance Energy are independent companies conducting their respective businesses that are governed by independent set of regulations. As such there is no question of having any arrangement for recovering the dues of Reliance Infocomm by disconnecting their electricity," the statement said.

The Reliance firms have urged consumers to report such rumours to the 24-hour helpline at 30336969 (Reliance Infocomm) or 30303030 (Reliance Energy).
